Every business reaches moments that feel uncomfortable, messy, or unclear. Growth rarely announces itself politely. Instead, it shows up as overwhelm, frustration, fatigue, or the quiet sense that what used to work no longer does.
It shows up unexpectedly and can knock you off your feet. I’m seeing a lot of this right now from business owners. And often I like to remind them that in business (like life), everything happens for a reason. Then I ask them, imagine you knew the answer to this, what does this point to?
That question shifts you out of panic and into leadership. Because challenges aren’t random—they’re directional. They’re signaling that something needs to evolve: your structure, your strategy, your mindset, or your capacity.
This is where many business owners stall. They look too far ahead, try to fix everything at once, or wait for perfect clarity. That’s not how momentum is built.
And you know this, I’m sure, but perfectionism is the enemy of progress. An object in motion stays in motion. This is where momentum comes from.
Why Doing More Isn’t the Answer—and Alignment Is
And momentum comes from identifying your one next step that will lead you in the direction you want to go.
Not the ten-step plan. Not the massive overhaul. Just the next aligned action that moves you forward with intention.
The next right thing might be:
- Reviewing what’s actually working (not what should be working)
- Simplifying offers or messaging
- Shoring up systems and boundaries
- Getting support instead of pushing harder alone
Growth requires honesty, self-trust, and the willingness to respond—rather than react—to where your business is now.
If you’re feeling stuck, know this: you’re not behind, and you’re not broken. You’re being invited to lead at a higher level.
If there is one thing I can tell you from experience it is that often a roadblock is there to get you to take notice. To question and investigate and uncover new and exciting growth opportunities (even if that means letting go of things you have always done).
Clarity comes after action. Choose the next right thing—and let it be enough.
